Blackhouse Grill

Chester - Romans, gladiators and a feast fit for an Emperor (or indeed Empress) - the BLACKHOUSE grill fits the bill. Surrounded by the ancient Chester walls and just a stones throw away from the ruins of an original Roman amphitheatre, where, we can be sure whole schools of gladiators would have received the chop or indeed the far more welcome and congratulatory ‘thumbs-up' and perhaps been rewarded with a feast far less impressive than any meal from the BLACKHOUSE grill... if only we'd been open around the first century?!
If Chester’s never ending stream of style bars is getting you down and there’s nothing you’d like more than a really good steak look no further than The Blackhouse Grill. A no frills but all the trimmings restaurant, The Blackhouse Grill is a cathedral at which the grill is god. You won’t find a Chef’s ego-trip between the pages of The Blackhouse Grill menu, nor is there a cow-hide chair in sight, leave those for the footie wives. Instead a contemporary, stylish interior of bare brick and stripped wood nestles beyond the doors of the stately Newgate House, where classic dishes meet new twists and steak, oyster, lobster and even ostrich tempt even the most ardent dieter
