For a healthy, enjoyable way to try something different this New Year without breaking the bank, Chester music and dance venue D’ Meltin’ Pot on Watergate Row is running free beginners’ salsa taster sessions on both Sundays (7pm) and Tuesdays (8pm) throughout January. Said D’ Meltin’ Pot’s owner, Mike Mitchell: ““If you can’t face the thought of sweating away in the gym or jogging in the winter weather, dance is a pain-free option which is now widely promoted above more traditional fitness regimes. In fact, in some areas, The National Health Service even provides dance classes to help reduce obesity and improve well-being. It’s a proven way to build fitness and develop flexibility and balance. Like any form of exercise, it kickstarts your endorphins and, combined with the social aspect, it has a real ‘feel good’ factor for overall well-being and improved mental health. “This is just the time of year when people are thinking about trying something new to get in shape and branch out and either meet new people or enjoy a new activity with their partner or friends. We thought we’d make it even easier for everyone with our free salsa taster offer for January. For a healthy, enjoyable way to try something different this New Year without breaking the bank, Chester music and dance venue D’ Meltin’ Pot on Watergate Row is running free beginners’ salsa taster sessions on both Sundays (7pm) and Tuesdays (8pm) throughout January. Said D’ Meltin’ Pot’s owner, Mike Mitchell: ““If you can’t face the thought of sweating away in the gym or jogging in the winter weather, dance is a pain-free option which is now widely promoted above more traditional fitness regimes. In fact, in some areas, The National Health Service even provides dance classes to help reduce obesity and improve well-being. It’s a proven way to build fitness and develop flexibility and balance. Like any form of exercise, it kickstarts your endorphins and, combined with the social aspect, it has a real ‘feel good’ factor for overall well-being and improved mental health. “This is just the time of year when people are thinking about trying something new to get in shape and branch out and either meet new people or enjoy a new activity with their partner or friends. We thought we’d make it even easier for everyone with our free salsa taster offer for January. John Barrowman, Britain's most successful - and comfortably Britain's best - all-round entertainer releases his third solo album, the self-titled John Barrowman this week on Arista and has now announced a brand new 23 date UK Tour including a show at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

John Barrowman is easily one of the most familiar faces on British television and the West End stage. Best known for playing Captain Jack Harkness in the BBC series’ Torchwood and Doctor Who, he has also been a judge on the award-winning BBC1 entertainment shows How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, Any Dream Will Do and I’d Do Anything. More recently he has hosted his own primetime Saturday night TV extravaganza, Tonight's The Night and graced London’s West End as Zaza in the Olivier Award-winning La Cage Aux Folles.  John Barrowman recently announced he has accepted a role in the hit TV show Desperate Housewives and will start filming imminently.

John Barrowman is perhaps his most personal album to date – the album he has always wanted to make.  As with 2007's Another Side and 2008's Music Music Music, it is a masterful, evocative and uplifting journey into perhaps the man's first love, musical theatre, comprising his favourite moments from Cats, Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys and Mack and Mabel to name a few. The album is filled with instantly familiar classics - Memory, The Winner Takes It All, My Eyes Adored You - to the less immediately familiar, such as So Close, a spine-tingling duet with Jodie Prenger lifted from the recent Disney movie Enchanted and chosen for his niece Clare. For a healthy, enjoyable way to try something different this New Year without breaking the bank, Chester music and dance venue D’ Meltin’ Pot on Watergate Row is running free beginners’ salsa taster sessions on both Sundays (7pm) and Tuesdays (8pm) throughout January. Said D’ Meltin’ Pot’s owner, Mike Mitchell: ““If you can’t face the thought of sweating away in the gym or jogging in the winter weather, dance is a pain-free option which is now widely promoted above more traditional fitness regimes. In fact, in some areas, The National Health Service even provides dance classes to help reduce obesity and improve well-being. It’s a proven way to build fitness and develop flexibility and balance. Like any form of exercise, it kickstarts your endorphins and, combined with the social aspect, it has a real ‘feel good’ factor for overall well-being and improved mental health. “This is just the time of year when people are thinking about trying something new to get in shape and branch out and either meet new people or enjoy a new activity with their partner or friends. We thought we’d make it even easier for everyone with our free salsa taster offer for January. For a healthy, enjoyable way to try something different this New Year without breaking the bank, Chester music and dance venue D’ Meltin’ Pot on Watergate Row is running free beginners’ salsa taster sessions on both Sundays (7pm) and Tuesdays (8pm) throughout January. Said D’ Meltin’ Pot’s owner, Mike Mitchell: ““If you can’t face the thought of sweating away in the gym or jogging in the winter weather, dance is a pain-free option which is now widely promoted above more traditional fitness regimes. In fact, in some areas, The National Health Service even provides dance classes to help reduce obesity and improve well-being. It’s a proven way to build fitness and develop flexibility and balance. Like any form of exercise, it kickstarts your endorphins and, combined with the social aspect, it has a real ‘feel good’ factor for overall well-being and improved mental health. “This is just the time of year when people are thinking about trying something new to get in shape and branch out and either meet new people or enjoy a new activity with their partner or friends. We thought we’d make it even easier for everyone with our free salsa taster offer for January. If you’ve fancied trying a class but have never got round to it, there is now officially no excuse!” Concluded Mike: “Salsa is a great way to get out, get fit and have fun. You don’t need to bring a partner, just come along ready to enjoy yourself! We get a whole range of people coming to our classes from all ages and backgrounds, right the way from students through to one couple in their 70s, so everyone is genuinely welcome.” Salsa classes at D’ Meltin’ Pot are taught by Mike, who originates from Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean, Banderas from Cuba, the home of salsa, and Chester’s own homegrown talent, Lee, the North West’s amateur bachata dance champion (Bachata is a partner dance style originating from the Dominican Republic, also taught at D’ Meltin’ Pot). As well as salsa and bachata classes and parties, D’ Meltin’ Pot runs affordable dance classes in other styles including street dance and even pole dancing, and has a busy weekly programme of music and dance events including live bands, top DJs and a regular Wednesday jam session for budding musicians.
